Initial, Free Bankruptcy Consultation: What to Expect

Wondering if a bankruptcy may be necessary in your personal or business finances is never a good feeling. We understand that. However, there is no shame in meeting with an attorney to see if a bankruptcy can benefit you and your situation.

Bankruptcies can be highly beneficial for many who file. Please see our post about common bankruptcy misconceptions that we have debunked. MLRPC takes pride in taking out some of the fear and sometimes the shame individuals feel when it comes to meeting with an attorney to discuss bankruptcy. Our initial office conference for bankruptcy is free of charge and lasts approximately one hour.

Upon scheduling with our office, you will be provided with a packet of information with recommended documentation to bring with you to make the meeting the most productive. However, if you are unable to bring all the documents with you, that’s okay! Simply bring a list of debts/creditors and your most recent pay stubs or wage information.

The initial conference is straightforward and is a more surface-level discussion about your income, debts, and options when considering filing a bankruptcy. During this conference, we will review the documents you have provided and discuss the possible options to address your current and future financial situation.

At the end of the conference, our office will provide you with a quote for attorney fees related to a potential bankruptcy. It is our policy that we will only quote fees after we meet with the client and can provide a fair rate that matches your individual situation. There is no pressure to retain our office at the conclusion of your first conference.

Our office has a combined 50 years of bankruptcy experience. We have handled a wide variety of cases from very straightforward to some of the most complex individual and business cases. There are very few situations our office has not encountered with our combined experience.

If you are wondering if filing bankruptcy may be needed for your personal or business finances, please contact our office to schedule a free consultation where our main goal is to help ease some of your concerns associated with filing a bankruptcy.

Let our office’s experience and expertise give you some clarity into your situation.
